Our Story
Rooted in Vermont
From Vermont forests to your kitchen.
Hot Sap grew from a family tradition of making maple syrup in southern Vermont, a love of home cooking, and the belief that exceptional ingredients make exceptional food.
After years spent in the spice world, we came to appreciate how extraordinary ingredients can transform everyday cooking. We wanted to bring that same philosophy to Vermont maple syrup.
The result is Hot Sap: pure Vermont maple syrup infused with carefully chosen chili peppers, creating a pantry staple that's equally at home on pizza, roasted vegetables, grilled meats, cocktails, and countless weeknight dinners.
Ingredients Matter
We believe maple syrup is more than a sweetener.
Like olive oil, coffee, or wine, maple syrup reflects where it's made. Healthy forests, changing seasons, and generations of craftsmanship all shape its character. That's why we source through close relationships with a small community of multigenerational sugarmakers across southern Vermont. From sustainably managed working forests to family sugarbushes, every producer shares a commitment to making syrup with exceptional depth, complexity, and balance.
We chose fruity Cobanero chili sourced through Burlap & Barrel because its bright fruitiness complements, rather than competes with, the maple syrup. A touch of ghost chili adds a clean, lingering warmth.
Every ingredient has a purpose. The result is layered flavor, balanced heat, and a bottle you'll reach for again and again.
Made to Be Used
We created Hot Sap to live beside your olive oil, flaky salt, and favorite hot sauce.
Reach for it on crispy chicken, pizza, roasted vegetables, grilled salmon, breakfast sandwiches, cheese boards, marinades, cocktails, or anywhere a little sweet heat belongs.
Whether you're glazing salmon, finishing a pizza, or mixing up a margarita, Hot Sap is designed to make everyday cooking just a little more delicious.
However you use it, we hope Hot Sap earns a permanent place in your pantry.
